Bristol is one of my favourite cities in the UK so I'm very happy to say it's actually pretty dog friendly! If you're looking for a weekend getaway here are a few of the places i was able to visit with my little Monty man that I would recommend to anyone visiting. 1. St. Nicholas Market. This market is beautiful for a start, the location is really nice with incredible architecture and cobbled roads all around. The outdoor sections are dog friendly so you can explore the quirky stalls and try a variety of amazing street food whilst you're there. A couple of the stall owners actually had dogs with them so if your furry friend is anything like my Monty they can say hello and play whilst you have a shop.

There are some really lovely bits at the outdoor stalls. I had a flick through some vintage clothing whilst i was there. They had some cool dungarees, summer dresses, vintage branded T-shirts and some Levi jeans that very nearly came home with me.
There was also some small local businesses there selling good quality handmade items like these chopping boards I picked up.
Please bear in mind, dogs are not allowed in the indoor stalls but if you're in the area its definitely I'd suggest taking your doggo down for a mooch to see what you can find! Make sure you bring some cash as the ATM's close by charge for withdrawals.
2. Canon's Road
My mum and I went for our first 'night out' in a while. We had the dog so assumed we'd be a little limited on what we could do or where we could go...we were very wrong!
Every restaurant had outdoor seating so we just hopped from place to place making our way down the whole strip and then had a walk around the river site seeing. Again, it's a really beautiful area with water views and lots of places to eat and drink.

The only thing I would say is that we went on a Saturday night and it got fairly busy. With Bristol being a student area and the location being as good as it is, the second evening hits the place is rammed with merry bar hoppers. If your dog is at all skittish or nervous I'd suggest going before 6pm just to avoid the crowds.
That being said Monty is a little jumpy and he was absolutely fine! People were drinking and loud but everyone was friendly and just having fun. Most people kept to themselves or just stopped to give him a stroke and say hello. Most of the outdoor seating is out of the way of the foot traffic.
3. The Stable - Canon's Road, Harbourside, Bristol, BS1 5UH.
'Bristol's best riverside spot for sourdough pizza, local pint, live music and a boogie'
This was by far my favourite place along Canon's Road! The pizza was unbelievably good, so good we had seconds! It wasn't too thick or too thin, with really nice tomato sauce and covered in stringy mozzarella cheese. We'd already had nibbles before stopping at this place and ended up having another full meal.
There are Lagers, Ales, Ciders, wines and other alcoholic beverages. I went for Annings Fruit Cider - Elderflower & cucumber which was really good I'd definitely recommend.
The staff were friendly and interacted with Monty giving him lots of cuddles which kept him happy. There was an issue with the app that meant we ended up with a long wait for one of our drink rounds so the lady serving us removed the charge of one of our pizzas without us making any requests or complaints, just to apologise.
We sat chatting and stuffing our faces enjoying the view of the water until we heard the sounds of guitars and singing behind us. We turned around to realise this spot actually holds events for live music as well! The music was really good and the atmosphere was great.
