Monty enjoyed his Bristol experience so much with Pup Up Café that I almost instantly went on the hunt for another one of their events. They have loads of different locations and dates available but we ended up deciding on Southampton. We wanted an event that was a little more local to us so that we could take names and numbers of other dog owners for potential play dates or dog walks… and that’s exactly what happened.

From the moment Monty and his now best friend Oreo locked eyes we all knew it was love. They ran over to each other and didn't leave each

other's side through the whole event. Oreo's mum and I exchanged numbers and have since arranged play dates in our area.

I'd spent a lot of the Bristol event worrying, although I knew Monty was safe and the doors were being monitored, I was concerned he would get separated and panic if he couldn't find his way back to a familiar face. Monty ran off the second he could all excited to make new friends and wasn't in any distress at any point! I followed him around and watched him weave in and out of families and doggos making friends along the way completely care free. Because of this I was a lot more settled at the Southampton event and just let him roam freely, lifting my head above the crowd to scout him out occasionally and check all was ok.

By the Southampton event he knew what was going on really so ran off and played merrily with the other pups, he would occasionally make his way back to me to check in but then pretty quickly he'd shoot off on the hunt for Oreo again.

I really can't recommend these events enough to be honest! They're £9.00 for a dachshund owner, £12.00 for a regular human ticket and doggos go free! The tickets are booked through Fatsoma that charges a 0.50p booking fee but even that's very reasonable.

If you've got a sociable little pup like mine that's full of beans with no siblings at home it's a great way to burn some of that energy and even take names and numbers for more dog dates afterwards. A professional photographer was there to document the whole event and all images were available on their Facebook page about a week after which is great as most of my pictures are just blurred action shots that were barely worth taking.

For more info on the event check out my previous post from the event I attended in Bristol and for tickets find Pup Up Café on:
